Canon 15-85 won't fit on my Kenko extension tubes

I have recently upgraded my main lens to a Canon 15-85 EF-S which I am loving. But today I went to put my extension tubes on it and no matter what I tried it didn't fit. The threads were OK it just seemed like the protrusion at th rear of the lens was too long to fit into the extension tubes. Has any one else had this issue or do anyone know if I'm missing something?
    Thanks

I have no personal experience of your problem, but since I also have the 15-85 I thought that I would do a quick google. There is a person on the POTN website who has used the lens with the kenko tubes apparently, with focus being the only problem they reported.

Kenko tubes in the past, used to only fit the EF mount.
This is the same as my set.

The new ones will fit the EF-s lenses such as the 15-85.

It is because the inner part of the tubes are too small to fit the extended rear element of the EF-s lens.
