Advice on photographing new born

My first grandchild is due this coming weekend. They have asked me to take some photos.

If all goes well just after the birth & so on.

If anyone has any tips can you please post them. I know I am going to have a problem with light & not being able or want to use flash.

I really would appreciate any help you may have. Thank you

take a lot of pics, don't use flash or reflectors, it ain't good for baby eyes.
get a fast lens and turn up the ISO, get what you can.

if you are stuck on pose idea's check out Minna Burgess (she's on here), she is brilliant at newborns.

You must be getting excited Lillian ...check out the web ...do a google...for new born pic's & take note of the ones (save them) that you like taken in natural light, near a window & try to set baby up the same. You may even be able to read some exif data to set your camera up the same, sometimes printing off the pic in ordinary ink will help with the posturing/positioning.
