Tips for shooting video on a DSLR

Please forgive me if this post is out of place on a photography forum, or if its been done before (i searched but couldnt find any threads).

I work in television and am very competent with cameras and such, however have never shot on a DSLR.
I just bought a Canon 60D, so.... any tips?
any shooting advice? best frame rate, shutter speeds for different things? any general advice for video on a DSLR?

I am very biased here so take this with a grain of salt
For video, I would use a video camera - it's meant for it, has all the stuff needed for video, etc etc
For hi-quality stills, I would use a stills camera

But I am choosing to use a DSLR for my current application, i work as a television broadcast professional and shoot with pro video cameras.
My question remains for any advice or tips people have discovered from filming with a DSLR.

Canon DSLR's can produce stunning HD video, they have been used to produce feature films, shoot TV commercials and even TV series (the finale of House for example)

Hi Dan, the first thing you will need is a decent mike adapter...Beachtek and then find a pro mike- eg sennheiser/ Sony.
Tripods with fluid head big help
