    HDR Effex Pro

Has anyone purchased this yet from NikSoftware.com? If so what do you think about it?

I have always been a great fan of Silver Efex Pro and think that is a great product so am considering HDR Efex Pro but would like some feedback from users first.

    Thanks

I haven't used HDR FX Pro but, for what its worth, I can tell you that I find Photomatix Pro very good. Mike

Thanks Mike. I have heard good reports about Photomatix Pro but haven't used it myself. I am hoping the Niksoftware HDR Efex Pro might be a bit easier and quicker to use as there are a lot of templates which might be useful. Hope someone will let me know if it is worth buying as now is the time to buy.

Sounds good advice as the price is US157.00 and the anchor point technology is very useful with Silver Efex Pro so I am thinking it is very similar in the way it works. If that is right it should be just click on a couple of buttons and job done. This is what I am after.

Isn't there a 30 day trial version available free? Or at least 15 days?

Please let me know how you go with the trial version as I don't have time to spend on it during the next few weeks and with the exchange rate as it is right now it has never been cheaper to buy so I am on the verge of spending the money. I would love to know.

This was using one of there presets.
you need a fair bit of memory because it works in 32 bit.

Brought in some wonderful range but also a lot of horrible noise and artifacts. I realise it is just a test though.

Tip if you are buying Nik products,

Google Nik Coupon code and you'll probably find a code to give at least a 10% discount. Don't give up if the first code you try doesn't work.

Nik give out these codes to various web sites as promos and Google is your friend in finding them.

could have corrected that but thought it would be good for you guys to see it straight from the plug in without any other correction

That 's fantastic. I am sold on it now as I was expecting we still needed to blend several shots together. I note it is $149.95 on the Oz Niksftware page so I am going for that.

Thanks to everyone for your help.

These are really good. I have bought it and produced my first pic using the software. Not very inspiring but it has worked well using one of the presets although a little tweaking might be in order. I am happy as it is my first try.

I'll have to give it a try - always used Photomatrix, I have tried a couple other programs but they all fell short.

Did you guys use several frames or just the single frame HDR flow ?

Maggiem - you have some bunnies there

Just single frame and yes I know about the bunnies. Not important for me as this was just a test of the HDR software.
