    Question D5000 discontinued?

This is what I hear from DD electronics in Singapore.

I was shopping for a D5000 twin lens kit for my wife, and noticed that they no longer stock them. I was informed that the D5000 has been discontinued.

I took a good look at the D3100, considering it as an alternative, but in the end decided that the D5000 was still my (her) preference. I've put in an order elsewhere and am waiting for it to be confirmed. Wonder how long it'll be before they get harder to find? Having said that, you can still buy the D40... though I was specifically after the twin lens kit!

I thought that Nikon D5000 would be discontinued on December 2010. But if you haven’t find it then could be earlier.
I will follow this thread because I am also interested in this camera.
    Regards.

Constructive Criticism (CC) is alsways welcome.

tcdev, I went to the city and I found the Nikon D5000 in the stores.

In the “gray” market is on stock as well. I checked in the site some AP has commented:

Hope you can get one for your wife.

It turned up last week. Gave it a quick once-over but it's back into the box until Xmas morning...

(I think I'm more excited about it than she is!)

I am glad to hear that you obtained the Nikon D5000. And you might be more excited because you know what the gift is... or Does she know in advance?
    Anyway, congrats on your acquisition.

Because of tilting display repair issues, I thought Nikon would drop the D5000.
However, Canon has copied the tilt screen and there are now rumors of a D5100 coming out soon.
