ACPI - My Performance - Competitions

We have a feature that allows members to see how they are progressing in competitions.

    Try it here http://www.ausphotography.net.au/for...do=performance
(Its on the Competitions menu tab as 'My Performance')

The ACPI is an average of your competition votes as a % (so its normalised regardless of how many voted).

Do you use it at all and is it useful?

Perhaps its best we don't know about it. I did not know it was there.
Now looking at it I see my Performance is so bad I wont bother entering any competitions again.
I will spend that extra time reading up on how to take better photo's.

I shoot with Canon And Olympus Cameras

    Checked it the other day
No stars showed up at all

So does that mean no one has voted for my images

Oh hang on I probably haven't entered any

Well, here's hoping I am not the only ACPI dummy, but I have never really understood what the numbers mean...is getting a lower number the aim?

So...in answer to your question , my answer would be no and no.

I had a look at yours. Some months you're much higher than me ... so don't give up - just use it as a tool to measure improvement (which is its intent).

I wish Higher is better. As I said - its just an average percentage of votes for the month in the comps you entered.

Well, perhaps if it showed me coming first all the time it would be more useful!

I like it, I must enter more competitions to make more use of it!

Hmmmm... my performance has improved only 1.5% in the last 4 months. At that rate, I should see a 25% improvement sometime around 2015!!!

It's a nice idea, Kym, but it doesn't work for me. I will continue to enter competitions because of AP's support for graded entries, but I doubt I'll bother to check anything beyond "no votes agin, Forest"! Sorry.

I voted graaavy but I do take a look at it.
I notice that with some images I might get heaps of votes initially but then not in the final washup - so it has been useful for me from that point of view. Prior to this year, I hadn't been entering many comps so it probably wasn't as usueful a tool for me then.

Yes, but averaged for the month when more than one competition you entered is in the month.
