good pick up Darren. I`m hoping that the new D7000 stays or I should say starts at a realistic price.....but I`d have bought that 300s as well....

ripper!.... just what the Aussie Wool Growers association needs... advertising this fact openly, knowing full well that it'll cause a stampede of NZ farmers looking for cheap thrills!

Of all people on here I thought that you would be a little more astute to the situation Darren.

Yep the greenback (sounds like something you coughed up from the rearmost regions of your throat ) slumps and all of a sudden European and Australian currency is a valuable commodity to be had to keep sales going in the good ole US of A where they are enduring a very damaging ( self induced ) financial crisis.

It seems that if you looked at a site that sells a lot of secondhand Nikon gear a week or 3 ago and compared the prices to today you would find, like I did that prices have RISEN by about 5%.

Marketing at it's best, convince everybody that they are getting a bargain due to world wide financial problems but jack up your own prices to take advantage of those who thought they were getting a bargain.

Some may call me a cynic, I prefer the term realist.

Well, dunno about that, aud is over valued by 30% and usd well down....but....it will bounce the other way. The seller was only selling domestic so to him it's advertised in usd and he got paid in usd, so, he's not worried

Best thing is that the new camera cleared customs today so should be in my hot hands tomorrow!!

Well bought for the "S", many people still getting that for the D300.

I'm going to bite that 400/2.8 while I can get .96C, if I procrastinate any longer, I'm sure to kick myself in coming weeks when it starts to go downhill, and it usually goes downhill much more rapidly that it does uphill. Once the tide turns, we will not likely see the $AUD at such highs for what could be years...
