    Help! low contrast mask!

    yes this is a crappy photo.

    how would I mask the fish out in similar stuff, so I can process the fish one way and the coral in another?

    I'd use the quick mask mode and 'paint' out the area you want to select. Bit of info on it from google http://www.elated.com/articles/photo...ick-mask-mode/
    Although, I reckon that shot is fixable without doing separate adjustments.

    What PP software do you have? Just quickly, Auto levels in Photoshop yields this.

    well it's a large coral, I wanted the coral to be less contrasty than the fish
    anyway, it's more wanting to learn how to do masking
