D90 or D5000ion

Hey guys
Quick question.
I am now thinking of buying the D5000 over the Canon 1000D
But for an extra 200 dollars i could buy the D90

Is the D90 worth the extra 200
I like the look of the top LCD screen with the shooting info and the larger higher quality screen

any help, tips, suggestions would be great

D90 is a bargain at present and when the D7000 (which I want) comes out next month, the 90 may drop even further. Anyway, I`d go for the D90.

ditto, faster and better AF, better noise handling, more robust body etc alone worth the extra

With the D90, you could use (and buy, cheap) old Nikkor AF D lenses that are NOT AF-S. (Nikon lenses that have no AF motor on the lens). The D5000, to keep it lightweight and smaller, don't have an AF motor within it's body, so it can only use the newer AF-S lenses for full AF function.
Both have virtually the same sensor.

I have both - I love my D5000, but love the D90 more

If you have the little extra room in the budget, go for the D90

I bought mine from www.camerasdirect.com.au - great price and incredible service. Highly recommended.
