    450 or 1000D

    hey
I am looking into buying a DSLR
being a teenager i have a rather tight budget so i want a low cost camera but i still want to get a good camera.
After reading some reviews and articles i have chosen on the Canon 1000D or 450D but i still need some help deciding.
I would like to shoot macro, landscapes and sport.
any recommendations would be great. tips. any help would be good.
i would like to not spend more then $1200 including bag, tripod ect.

    Cheers, Ben

    Ben....

My bro has a 450D.....i'd go with that. I have a 500D, DIGIC 4 processor verses the 1000D DIGIC 3.

    Sorry Ben...

If you're going to shoot sports, the 450D will be of better service.

I had a 1000D until recently ( upgraded to a 50D) and it served my purpose well! I shot motor sports with it, sports carnivals at the school .. I can't fault it as a beginner camera.
Happy to take all constructive Critique, please don't rework or edit my photos. Thanks!

they're both good entry points. In reality, the 1000D could be thought of a newer version of the 450D, just with similar features and at the time (i think?) a lower price point. I'd go with whatever is cheaper, and spend the saved cash on a better lens And when you save up and get a macro lens you'll have an absolute ball, it's great fun.

I've had a 450 for 2 years now and find that for a few extra dollars over the 1000 it is a far better camera. My advise is buy a camera body, and pick up a better lens, perhaps a 17=85. I am sure you will be a happy chappy.

I reccon you should go for a second hand 40D or 50D. Both are more suited to sports, (faster auto focus and frames per second). For second hand you can get a 50D for Approx $800, with a standard lesn like a 18-55 IS thats another $100. Alot more camera than a 1000D imo

If you're looking for a second hand body, 40D and 50D won't fail you. If you don't do video, get a 40D. It will do you good. With the shutter speed, you can good shots with sports.
