What the hell Canon!

In hindsight, I am now thankful that my mum pushed me out of the 50D-60D limbo in July and encouraged me to go for the 50D and spend the $500 saved on the body on glass instead...

And I still have the same thoughts on video...If i wanted video, I wouldn't spend upwards of $3000 on equipment meant for stills as the primary aim...there's camcorders for video...
My 5D2 has video... I've never used it and I wouldn't even know how to use it LOL. I haven't even done a "test" video... it's just not important to me

I upgraded my 400D to a 50D a few weeks back and I love it. I am another who is not interested in the video aspect.

I'm not impressed with the plastic/aluminium body of the 60d or the video function. Glad I got my 50d when I did.

What is the point of removing the micro focus adjustment ability for the 60D? It's the best feature of my 50d, the ability to finetune my sigma 50mm 1.4 when it gets a bit off

    ^^

Not just Sigma, the EF 24/1.4 I use needs almost as much adjustment as my Sigma 50/1.4

I am also pleased I got the 50d cheap not that long ago, the 60d wasn't worth waiting for IMO.. just before the 7D mark II comes out I can grab a run-out 7d.. ;-)

The 60D seems to be quite the departure from the product line up anyway. Not really sure where Canon is going with it, I think the 7D is set to take the place of XXD's. The new 60D looks a lot more like a XXXD offering with some features thrown in (e.g. moveable LCD like on Sony's).

I got the 50d from Camera House in Parramatta,[ $999] they had bought 60 of them a few months ago & I think they had 2 left after I bought mine.
    Bearteggie the 50 d is greeaaat ,I had a 400d b4 & it is heaps better .
    Happy shooting .

The 50D is certainly great for action. I upgraded from 300D - 30D - 40D, then last year to 50D. I shoot a lot of working sheepdogs using a 70-200 f2.5 L and 400 f2.8 L, and the 5 frames/sec. with excellent low noise at high ISO. I've also elected not to buy IS lenses, putting my cash into the glass, and using a silicon damped head on my Manfrotto tripod for following the action.

    i have the 50D
its my first SLR camera so i can't compare it to others really
however i love the camera and am looking at getting something else cheap as a secound / backup
what camera would you suggest as a secound body?

was thinking of a 400D or 40D but if everyone says the 50D is so much better is it worth getting anything older?
