    Nikkor AF-S 200-400 f4 VR IF-ED First Pix

This little fellow has been in our back yard for 2 years and I have never been able to get a decent picture, until now. This lens is AWESOME! It is also long, heavy, and a challenge to use handheld....

If someone could identify the bird too??

    Thanks for looking...

    Well done Gordon nice pics

Not a bird expert but looks like a western honeyeater to me

I use my 200-400 on D3 and D700 bodies and sometimes with a 1.4 or 1.7 converter and absolutely love it,,,,,,took it to Europe last year for the air show season and handheld it all the time, you will get used to it just practice mate

    Cheers

Thanks Norm. Looking forward to giving it a good try out at some up coming motor racing events

Lovely photos. Could the bird be a New Holland Honey-eater?
    Best wishes,
