Does anyone here DIY their lighting mods? or other gear?

I'm wondering if anyone else here builds their own DIY lighting mods or other lighting accessories?

I've been considering building myself a beauty dish for a while just haven't had the spare time to tackle it... i need to sit down and do it one weekend...

Just interested to see what other people have built?

I just made myself a striplight using a hacked up rectangular cardboard box, foil, glue and some baking paper. Cost me about 40c i reckon. From the test shots it seem to spread the light uniformly and I will trialling it with my next model

    DIY strip light

Here are a few pics - seems to serve its intended purpose with long highlights and quick fall off with less wrap around than a softbox.

    I'm a fan of home-brew gear!

Check out my cheap flash clamp, and my flash reflector for macro photography.
