    New Sigma 100-300mm f4: Going, going ::::::::::

    Hi all,

    Just a heads up on the last available Pentax mount Sigma 100-300mm f4 in Oz.

    Kennedys told me a couple of days ago they have one (1) only left in stock and there will not be any more. I really want this lens but the pension doesn't stretch that far. Many regard this as the best Sigma lens offered to date.

    If interested, you would have to negotiate through one of their dealers.

    Cheers

    Appears from other forums that all mounts are discontinued, most mounts on B & H show this - rumour being replaced with HSM & OS model down the track as they have done with the 50-500 recently.

    I love mine but would dearly like a little quieter motor @ times.
    Regards

    Yeah a HSM version would be welcomed.
    Having OS in the lens as an option would be brilliant too!

    Considering that Sigma have been proudly showing off their new ULD glass recently with the likes of the 8-16 UUWA lens(that's uber ultra wide angle ).. and that they've also stopped producing the Pentax mount hints to a change of optical formula as well as the mechanics of the lens.
    The 100-300 has always been a well regarded lens for up to 300mm, so hopefully any new version wil be even better!
