I'm not, just wear a basic Seiko V657 chronograph.

    Nel has a few watches.
Her fav is a Girard Perregaux - not sure of the model, but its a classic spring movement from the 70's.
We keep it serviced and have replaced with band a couple of times.

She wears a Skargen day to day. http://img.skagen.com/Skagen_Asia_Pa...SSB/full.fx.fx (image)

Last time I paddled up to a swim up bar all I cared was that it was beer time.

Mobile phones do work under water don't they?

The last thing on earth that I would want on a tropical resort would be a watch or even know what the time is

I'm definitely a watch fan. The advent of omnipresent electronic devices that tell the time is pretty irrelevant for me - a watch is a thing of beauty and the only thing I wear that could be equated to 'jewellery'.

I'm also a fountain pen fan - the advent of laptop word processing didn't diminish that interest either!

    I have a few watches:

    1964 Omega Constellation 'C' in 18k gold

1985 Rolex Oyster Perpetual datejust in steel

2009 Rolex Daytona in steel (alas not one of the original 'Newman' Daytonas)

I've got a couple of pictures of the Omega which I've posted before on AP:

    Hi

I have my Dad's old Omega Constellation (white face, gold case)(about 1965) and my own Omega Speedmaster Professional (1967) (The 'Moon Watch') which I got for my 21st birthday. Unfortunately both of them require repairs to the winder, I have to find somewhere to get it done.

wow David, a '67 speedmaster...that'd have the 321 movement! nice. Tricky, I too would love a Paul Newman Daytona. In the '70's, they nearly had to give them away. My father was tempted to pick one up in Hong Kong for around $400! Now you'd have to pay well over $50k for one of those baby's.

Like many, I don't even wear one anymore, particularly due to working where I do, it would get destroyed in a short time. My best watch and also my favorite is the Breitling Navitimer World my dear wife bought me to celebrate signing my first 6 figure work contract.

well if we are talking watches again, this has to be my favourite - although a little hard to wear on the wrist, this one came from my grandfather a few years back, made around 1890

I'm a watch fan but nothing expensive... just have a collection of SWATCH watches ... Now i'm wearing a Tissot PR50 Titanium watch which is my favourite watch at the moment. Got it second hand though from this man at the swap meet... Went to look at them in the shops and found they are worth $425! whoop whoop!

Nikon D700 in all it's glory!

I used to collect watches more as an art rather than the monetary value of the timepiece.
I used to have a few windups. I got tired of winding them up.
I used to have a lot of automatics on the drawer as my collection. I got tired of adjusting them everytime they're about to be used.
I used to have a lot of quartz too. I got tired of spending for new gaskets when batteries are changed every 3 years.
I have now downsized to a more saner "user" collection of about half a dozen.
I wear the Wenger Swiss Military 200M Divers Watch SS case and bracelet most of the time. Also a few Tag Heuer and Seiko divers watches as well. All quartz movement.
I have a gold Cyma 1862 swiss day & date automatic 25 jewels with written day on top (12 o'clock) and numerical day at 3 o'clock.
