    50mm lens

    I am looking at getting a 50mm lens for my canon, does a 50mm macro work just as well as a standard 50mm. Can I still shot life size with the macro and still get the blurred background, at the moment I am looking at getting a canon ef 50mm f1.4usm. Or a Canon EF 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro

    well the obvious difference is one is f1.4 and the other f2.5. you are prolly better off with the f1.4 and buying a longer (say 100mm) dedicated macro lens later.
