    Nikon D80 issue

Hi all, a freind has a Nikon D80 and every time he takes a shot the image on the Lcd is green. Any idea what's the issue? I was thinking that the LCD screen has probably had its day, regards, Jeff

    Doesn't sound very promising.

How green do you call green?
Can he see any picture in there at all or is it a 'green screen of death' like a windows pc 'blue screen of death?

The older and smaller screens on the Nikons were never really fantastic at showing colours all that well ( we have a D50 that always looks "blue" in the camera but fine on the pc) but I am wondering if he hasn't turned the brightness down too far or something. Other than that it can he compare it to someone else's D80 or maybe have a repair facility take a quick look at it and tell him the extent of the problem.

When I first bought a D80, there was a fine protective film over the whole of the rear LCD. It had a green tint to it and hence giving the image a green look. Could this be a similar issue on your friend's D80? See if there is a protective film over the LCD.
