    DIY zfinder

    Hi all,
How possible you reckon it would be to build a loupe similar to 3x zfinder. They are charging around 500 australian for this bit of kit so how good you reckon the lens would have to be and how close could you get to building something cool??

Subtle, you are so subtle I can't help you, actual more that I have no idea what a 3x zfinder is. You'll have to excuse my ignorance.

I tried pointing the 105Macro lens into the VF of the D300 the other day, and all I can say is that it looked quite dreadful!

if you had an old disused/unloved webcam, you could always try it via a PC as a starting point.

Actually! I have an old disused/unloved webcam!.. why didn't I think of that idea a few days ago!

I'll see if it focuses close enough to make it workable.

zacuto z finder for Dslar (canon 550d)

Hi guys thanks for trying, here is the link to the real product
    http://store.zacuto.com/Z-Finder.html
$410 plus 20 for postage from Brisbane (Lemac) then add GST and you are nearly at 500!
Ive seen people saying (on Cinema 5D forums) that this will nearly buy you an external screen! But they also love the zfinder, so how close do you reckon you could get with DIY,
    any ideas?
    cheers
