dslr and p&s partners

hi i was wondering for those odd times where you can't have your dslr, do you carry a p&s? afterall there are going to places where it is not practical to take something that you can't fit in your pocket e.g. kayaking, horse riding, etc but you just don't want to miss a photo opportunity should it arise.

i am intersted to know what p&s do you have or do you just make do with the camera on your phone? i have the canon powershot d10 on my shortlist as my back up point and shoot.
