I have just started to fiddle with presets to. If you put a folder in your main presets folder under develop presets folder / user presets/ and give it an approprate name it shouldthen show up on the menu under user presets when you next start lightroom. I have installed over 300 presets and need to do exactly what your doing to tidy it up. Its a dogs breakfast at present. Hope that helps.
