Lightroom question.

Okay...I have two drives set up on my PC.... C and D drives....and set up all my Lightroom photos in a folder on my C drive, the smallest one ( before I got my head around how it all worked )....and now need to shift them to the D drive. Can I do that from LR so that it knows where they are and all my sub folders are kept intact and accessible by LR?
I have read to export as a catalogue is one way to go? Or can I move them through windows, and let LR find them?

Any plain English suggestions would be most welcome!

The important thing is to add the D drive to the catalog within LR and then use LR to move the folders, not windows etc
