    Hmmm... the "protective" UV filter on the end didn't seem to help much!
    ... good thing I've taken mine off!

    Bah, modern rubbish! I bet if it was a Nikon F or a Canon F1, you'd be able to wipe them off with a damp rag and off you'd go again (or maybe not...)

    Hope they were all insured.

    And I agree, seeing the results of these type of misadventures does makes me wince.

    I've been wrong before!! Happy to have constructive criticism though.Gear used Canon 50D, 7D & 5DMkII plus expensive things hanging off their fronts and of course a "nifty fifty".

    Wonder what happened to the 1D II if the lens looks like that.. re-traumatised me.. okay it wasnt a 2.8 but my 4.0 70-200 had a less dramatic departure. sad looking image that one.

    ooh!! just bought a 50d, these piccys scared the hell out of me, I think I'll buy a padded bag and leave it at home!
