Queries for the Photocalc iphone app users out there

    Hi,

I am contemplating purchasing the photocalc app, and since there are so many users on the forum, I am hoping you folks could help answer them

    1. Does it have a canon 50D in terms of the drop down
    2. Will this app be useful for portrait photography? I have been caught out previous by using a 50mm 1.8 wide open and not getting the required dof.
    3. How will the sunrise/set function work if I am using a gen 1 itouch.

    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers
    MakRo

Yes it has the 50D in the menu
Depends what you want to get from it for portrait work, but it can tell you the distance front to back with your lens set to a certain aperture and distance from lens, that will be in focus (ie 50mm @ f1.8 with subject 1 metre from camera, your DOF will be from 0.99m - 1.01m).

The flash feature will also give you the best flash power to light your subject based on ISO, aperture and distance to subject.

Constructive Critique of my photographs is always appreciated

thanks Rick for your response. Currently I have to chimp when I use the flash in manual mode. Sounds like this little app will help out with this. as well as make sure my subjet is in focus.
