A Few Reptile Critters In The Garden..

A few too many garden critters, Tuesday the week before a Taipan slithered through the front gate I quickly backed away.
Because of that Taipan I was a little worried about Dusty the resident Bearded Dragon who sun-bakes in that area.
So I got my Tony to put a log there and sure enough Dusty found it that afternoon and used it, is that clever or what

One day Dusty was giving me the Eye so I captured it, I even see my reflection in it..

Then two days later I was mowing the front grass and this green tree snake was laying there having a sleep.
I raced around the back, not to get the camera this time but to put my leather boots on.
It was hot that late afternoon so I still had my thongs on something I dont usually do and I wont do it again
This cute snake went up the dead tree and settled in the Wisteria creeper so when I finished mowing I took a couple of pics.

This morning I woke up to it raining so grabbed the brolly and went and watered the garden seeing the tank was full
It was better to put the motor on and water where it was needed rather than wasted where the tank overflow went.
Of course I did not see that disgusting Cane Toad that I stood on and wondered what was clinging to my foot.
I wish I had my leather boots on I would have kicked it to kingdom come, but no I had my thongs on again.
No bricks handy so when Tony came back from buying the Sunday Paper he fixed it up and tossed it over the fence.
Well that's where it came from, and you don't want to see a pic of that..

Hi Rich yes Dusty is a little cutie, its very friendly and will sometimes come when I call out to it.
That snake sure is a handsome one. And we hate the toads also, nasty creatures..
Tony reckons between the both of us we have killed a few thousand of them living in our garden in Townsville and Brisbane..

I agree Cat.. We certainly get some interesting critters in the garden..
First Taipan I have seen here, even though I know they are around..

Thanks Kirsty I tend to like the Reptiles also.. Yes I did get a pic of the Taipan but lost it.

I was standing at the front gate getting chatted up by a Real Estate Agent and Oh Boy did he go white when I pushed him aside and said there is a snake, as plain as day it was coming across the road and of course I had my camera around my neck with my Macro lens on as I had been trying to get a decent pic of my bee hive ginger flowers. I managed to get two good pics of the snake as it crossed the footpath then went through the gate..

I put the memory card in the card reader and cropped the head for ID put the card back into the camera and the next morning I formatted it like I do every morning and lost it as I did not save it on the computer I cant believe I did that. I will blame it on old age

Thanks Graeme it certainly is a colourful snake.
