    Lightroom Problem

I am running LR 2.6 and PS CS4 on Windows XP Pro SP3.
In LR when trying to edit a PEF image in CS4, LR opens CS4 but does not open the image, saying: “File could not be opened because CS4 could not be launched”.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any clues?

It used to work just fine in CS3.

    hi ray,

are you able to open images in CS4 directly? without LR first?

have you tried completely uninstalling CS4 and re-installing.

    Yes and yes.

    Reinstalling CS4 made no difference.

I saw a reference to this problem at the bottom of this page http://thelightroomlab.com/2009/07/o...om-speed-tips/ where someone with a MAC reported the same condition.

So, I knew I was not alone.

It happens to me too, I usually just have open CS4 first and then it seems quite happy

    Yes.

It will open a TIFF but only if I chose "Edit a Copy" or "Edit Original". Not if I choose "Edit a Copy with Lightroom Adjustments".
