A bit better than my previous attempts, but still a fair way to go.
Not the ideal environment for taking bird pics .... Close to a footpath with joggers, kids on bikes & scooters etc.
Will keep on trying.

The bird itself looks very nice. You could maybe have improved the composition by throwing yourself onto the ground before shooting.

Perhaps I should say that with a bird on the ground like that, then, where possible, adopting a lower position can help your composition.
Anyway it's still an attractive image.

and I like the bird pix.....
I have a manfrotto monopod it does not help me up all all..
That's what Hubby's are for...
