    Lightroom batch changes

    Hello,

I am using lightroom as my only pp program.

I was wondering if you know a good way, or if there is a way in lightroom to apply some noise reduction upon import depending on the iso setting.

Say i import 100 photos, 50 of them with iso 100 and 50 of them with iso 800.

Of course i will have quite a bit of noise in the iso 800 ones. It would be great to apply a certain amount of noise reduction to all iso 800 photos upon import, so that you dont have to worry about it afterwards, or at least only do some minor changes to photos you wanna print or so.

    Thank you,

    Mirc

Not based on iso setting, you can have two different presets but youd need to split the import accordingly

While we are talking about different iso settings and noise reduction.....

Do you always use the same amount of lumminace and colour noise reduction based on the images with the same iso setting, and if so what values do you choose for 200,400,800 etc iso settings?

I guess this is quite different from camera to camera, is it?
Is it dependent on the image as well? (night photograpy, day, landscape, people, etc etc)

    Ciao,

    Mirc

It would be very different depending on exposure and the scene. If was so clear cut, the camera's would have it built in.

The LR 2x NR is pretty ordinary.

LR 3 is supposed to be going to be a LOT better

If you have to do a lot of NR, download a trial of Nik Dfine, Neat Image or Noise Ninja
