Bribie Island is sometimes great for sunsets. Wildhorse Mt Lookout. Just off Brucehighway before caloundra gives a great snap of the Glasshouse Mt and surrounding area. Best on a clear day however.

Hi, does anybody have any locations that are abandoned industrial/ building with alot of graffity and rubble sort of location. They make good fashion shots.

Wow! for someone new to this group and newish to photography this is a great thread and one I will come back to often, thank you for the great ideas, the only ones I can add for the moment are

Landscapes
Springbrook National Park, and anywhere out and around Maleny and Monteville.

I couldn't agree more, a very useful thread for a newbie!!

Also, couldn't agree more about Maleny and Montevile! Very nice areas to shoot. I got some great photos (in my opinion ) when I was last there!

The Spit, Southport. If you follow the path next to the cafe (right hand side as you are looking at the front) you will come to a large jetty. The jetty itself make for some interesting photos (they do charge a small fee for public access), but the area surrounding the jetty entrance is even better.

Very nice beach, great sand dunes, and the grasses and trees in the dunes provides very interesting backdrops for portrait photography (quite often see wedding photographers out here).

ive only been here about 9 months - but loving having this thread as im going to try and go somewhere new each sunday.

i have found that - Shorncliff (Sp?) Jetty and surrounds is very nice little beach ( also if you have kids the playground look wicked...we have no kids yet...but my enthusiasm for the playground is still there )

Thanks AutumnCurl heading to Shorncliffe Jetty today! (hopefully the weather holds out!)

We've got kids, so the kids can play while I muck around with my camera!! If I capture anything interesting I'll post them up!

Hi here is an interesting spot which I stumbled upon about 10 days ago....

SPRING BLUFF STATION. (its a Railway station - track is still in regular use) beautifully renovated with a fantastic queenslander cottage/house which is a coffee shop. roughly 1hr 10 mins - 1hr 30 mins from Brisbane Northside (depending heavily on traffic).

It was badly damaged in the floods but is up and running now for rail stock. Don't know about the surrounds.

I received an email tonight from the Friends of Oxley Creek Common, saying that the walking track is open again. It has been closed since the floods.

Recently did a photo session with my son at DICKY BEACH, Caloundra.. especially at sunrise/sunset, the SS Dicky wreck is right on the shoreline, we took some awesome shots....

There is the wreck of the Gayundah at Woody Point (Redcliffe), also the Maritime Museum at Southbank (near the Goodwill Bridge which is also good to photograph and photograph from).
The Kurilpa Bridge is another great location and subject.

Also the Railway Workshops in Ipswich for machinery, trains etc.

MT Mee National Park is good after the rains.

The Brisbane Powerhouse (at New Farm) and New Farm park seem like nice places for some architecture/landscape shots.

I haven't been there with a camera yet, but it is on my list.

Rainbow Beach, landscapes
There are a lot of large blackish rocks on sand next to the ocean
great for portraits as well.

If you have a 4WD then head up along the Noosa North Shore to Double Island Point Light House. Entry is vi the barge at Tewantin and a day permit can be purchased from office just before the barge for around $12.00. Osprey of course the beach a ship wreck and the light house. You can then travel through the Freshwater Road track and at the end turn right and head into Rainbow Beach. Take your lunch and check the tides before travelling along the beach.
Remember, this beach is a gazzetted highway so all road rules and speed limits apply and yes they are patrolled by police.
