    I got a canvas on Friday from Brilliant Prints and it is wonderful
    Suse
    Canon 5D
    24-70 f2.8 L
    Canon 400D (DH has stolen)
    Twin lense kit
    50mm f1.8
    Sigma 17-70 f2.8-4.5
    Canon 580ex speedlite
    Some tripod

    Hands down I think canvas is the way to go...

    I have a few shots that I would like printed to go into my sanctum sanctorum...so this might be worth doing some research into a local printer.

    Is it possible to get 'glossy canvasses', the ones I have seen have been a matt finish?

    Yes I can do you a glossy. The ones I have hanging at home are all glossy. PM me.
