I use a browser that has most of the useful things listed above built-in in the first place, doesn't require a zillion extra downloads to set up, doesn't require that you trust two dozen third-party add-on makers as well as your browser manufacturer, doesn't insult you with a dumbed-down user interface, and loads and browses faster with all those nice things already operational than Firefox does before you load the add-ons.

Firefox works just fine if you haven't got anything better. Opera rocks.

Looks like we disagree at last.

Opera is an excellent browser; BUT it does not give me what I want/need and Firefox does.
Firefox does not need plugins, but they are very handy and flexible.

i don't use any plugins, but i would like to get one that allows me to 'close all tabs to the right of this one'. i used that one on ie or chrome, can't remember. I do like the coloured tab system of ie, but i do like the speed of fox.

I use Linkman and Tabkit (Linkman isn't really a plug-in but an add-in). It's simply an excellent bookmarker that requires no menus or ordering - it works like Powermarks which I used to use. Tabkit lets you have more than one row of tabs and lets you lock them - plus other stuff related to tabs.
