    dude at the back door:::

    My daughter opened the back door this morning and found this guy right next to her....perched in the shade.

    Just had time to grab camera and get a couple of frames before he decided we were being too intrusive and departed.

    Quick reactions to get anything Ruth....usually when that happens to me, by the time I get back with camera, they've gone and perched in the most inaccessible spot nearby.
    Very nice visitor to have tho!

    I cheated...I stood very still in the position I wanted and sent daughter to fetch camera so we wouldn't scare him off too quickly. I do wish it was a tad sharper, but when I grabbed camera, I glanced at lens, checked aperture and totally forgot to adjust iso up a bit, so speed was a bit slow for me hand held.
    We get a few Tawny Frogmouths around our backyard....usually on the fence or hills hoist at dusk.
