    my first sunset--need advice/tips first

i will be attemping to photograph a sunset this weekend, and was wondering if anyone had some "make sure you do this..." or even just a setting or whatever.
i only have the 18-55 as my widest so that'll have to do...i will be going to the local lookout where there will be a good veiw (hopefully) im not familar with the wider shots, im used to getting in tight.
    thanks in advance from casey.
