I found a webpage which demonstrated what was called Monet Photography

You set your camera to its lowest aperture and move it in circular motion

Interesting. I kinda like it but it doesn't make me go WOW. I reckon if you used a darker environment and background, it would make the colours stand out a little more and work better. Fun experimenting with ideas, eh?

I use the Impressionist tool in Corel Painter 4 Essentials (that came with the Wacom tablet) to convert pikkies to paintings - sometimes the results are quite interesting (I suppose it should really be "before and after"....):

This took aboiut 10 attempts, supposed to be done in shade or when its overcast

There is also a method called spinning - you multicolour background and use the
Lowest aperture and a zoom lens- a ND Filter is also used(Still on shopping list for me)

You twist the camera and zoom at the time you are taking the image
and it produces an image that looks like water going down a drain

Haven't managed to be co-ordinated enough to get this to work as yet
but will post if I manage to do it.

I created this by accident. I was experimenting with a pinhole "lens" on my 40D. Set it to 3200 ISO. I thought that the auto exposure would work if I set it for Aperture Priority. I was wrong but got a reasonable exposure purely by luck. Not sure what the actual exposure time turned out to be. The "rainbow" effect is possibly caused by diffraction. I think some sunlight was falling directly on the pinhole from the right.

Does it have any photographic merit?

Graham the rainbow effect is different not sure on the artistic merit lol BTW some dust bunnies there lol

Calx yeah some interesting software out there for art work effects - Alien Skin Snap Art is a good plugin also

I had to get a minor medical treatment today and looked at the prints in
shiny frames on the displayed on the walls with blurred sort of flowers in them,
I reckon your accidental image is better than what I saw today

Digital camera's are such wonderful tool, be creative and see what you can do

Interesting effect with the monet one Chris

Can't claim the idea as mine, came across it in a move by Bryan Peterson
he also has a spinning trick that creates a image that twists like water
going down a drain.

Haven't managed to duplicate it yet, but will have fun trying though.
