    Bottle Product Shots

We headed off to Tamborine Mountain here is Queensland for a wine and distillery tour about 2 weeks ago. We sampled plenty and bought a fair share also. But before I let Anna open these bottles I wanted to get some photos of them.

Here is a setup shot for the shoot.

Umbrella with Vivitar 285 @ 1/4 power. 45 deg angle to bottle and slightly above. Shot at f3.5 - 4.

More details about the shoot on my blog www.thephotojourney.com

Looks good to me, quite professional really...

How smooth was that Myrtle Lemon Vodka?

I reckon you have done an excellent job of those.

Colours and exposure of the blue bottle jump out nicely and even though the exposure is very well done on the "lemon myrtle" bottle I think that it might actually look better on a neutral grey background to overcome the clear liquid ( not that there is anything wrong with drinking clear liquids ) and the glass blending so closely.

Your shot setup has worked well, maybe another trip to the distillery and a shoot with a different background?

Either way I would like to see a larger post of the blue bottle on that background.

Nicely done, a great sense of purity conveyed with the stark flawlwess white background....my only thought was maybe the two bottle are a bit too far apart...maybe. Love to see a picture similar with the bottles individualy p[hotographed.

Love the bottle of Wattle Toffee, beautifully captured. I would like to see a different background on the vodka bottle but if you change the background the vodka changes colour also.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Its my first ever shoot of products let alone bottles.

The 2 bottles are actually 2 different shots. I have larger shots on my blog and a lil more info if your interested.

I would like to try the Vodka on different background but as Carmen has said the clear liquid will be a similar colour to the background unless I snoot a 2nd flash. Hmmm that gives me an idea.

Here is a bigger version of the Wattle Toffee

If you are going to do a couple more shots, perhaps a subtle green or red background to match the label? And some white paper cut to the bottles shape sitting between the bottle and the background with a strobe pointing at it?
