Recommended picture size for poster and brochure

An organisation has asked me to take some pics for use in a brochure(booklet size) and possibly a poster.

Just curious as to what size to hand to them or should I just hand them the default camera size which is 4288 x 2848.

The bigger the better I say, but, unless you are giving them an uncropped photos it's not going to be that size anyhow

Also, make sure its 300dpi
