    Light tent problems

Hello all! My father recently purchased a small 40x40x40cm light tent and I have been attempting to take photos of some bullets I wish to catalogue. However, I have a problem with the lens being reflected in the surface of the bullet and creating a black line down the middle of the bullet. How can I fix this?

this can happen with shiny objects. One solution is to put one of the lights very close to the camera lens, this means there will be a 'spotlight' reflection at that point, and hopefully minimise the visibility of the camera/lens.

You could also try photographing them with your long lenses that I see you have - that way the lens won't be close enough to be seen in the reflection. Depends on angle though I suppose.
