Also: It sort of negates that need for sharpening due to the bayer sensor itself.

if i have read the 'bottom line' section properly, this will only work properly with the camera on a tripod.

so what would happen if hand held with shake reduction off? after all with a tripod shake reduction would/should be off

Olympus were first (in the mainstream), plenty of photos on the internet and reviews and articles. I have one and it works well.

Wasn't Hasselblad the first? Then Olympus, then Pentax. And there's a recent Apple patent too but that one shifts the optics rather than the sensor but the idea's the same.
