Did my ND grad filter course this

This image is made up of 6 images all take in manual and with a ND filter to help with the sky.
As you can see the sky is way to dark, so what coursed this? help needed

was filter a hard or soft ND grad?? maybe you could have dropped it down somewhat to even out the sky somewhat....seems like overall the filter was a bit too dark though?

Where you using a straight ND or and ND Grad? If it was a Grad, I think it needed to be further down the holder so the ND bit didnt just cover the top bit of sky, but was more down the the jetty level. However, I really like the end result as it is.

There are about 5 or 6 vertical strips where the ND grad is darker. I think that detracts more than the darkness of the sky itself.

Depends on what you were aiming for but I do not mind that shot at all.

The filter was a cokin grad number P121, I will try the same shots again with the filter pushed down more. Many thanks for your comments.

I have seen the same dark pieces coming down the sky area even with out the Grads.
I am wondering if it is the edge of the lens, and when being stitched it is to close to the edge of the next stitched image?.
Yes I have had some with same prob, and I do not have ND Grads.

Try the P121L, it's a softer, more gradual ND.
What software are you using to stitch? What lens are you using? Are you using the wide angle holder if your lens is wide?
