    Help

    Was taking photos at the qld titles(wakeboarding) when it finished I tried to download the images via a card reader to my laptop nothing happened so then put the card back in the camera the camera read cf not formatted to this camera tried a different computer came up card not formatted,any ideas how I can get the files.it is a 8gb ultra 2 sandisk.

    Have you tried seeing if there are any files on the card using windows explorer?
    Canon EOS 50D, EF 16-35 f2.8L II, EF-S 60mm f2.8 macro, EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L, 430 EXII.

    Do you have a cable to connect the camera to the computer? I've found sometimes my computer doesn't read the card, but files do show up and can be downloaded via the cable. I don't know why this is, but hope the idea helps you.

    that wont work because when I try and put the card back in the camera comes up card not formatted format card with camera

    use a card reader, not the camera. DO NOT format the card or try and take any more photos on it!

    You will need something like Sandisk Rescue Pro, to try and read the images on the card

    Thanks guys good news used a program called card recovery got all the files back.

    Be careful using that card in future. Don't use for important stuff, it could be on its way out, and die at any time, with recovery not working that time.

    My suggestion would be to throw it away and get a new replacement card.

    Thanks for this thread para. I used card recovery program and looks good so far. Damn xd card, it will see the bin once the recovery has finished.
