    Monitor calibration software?

Can anyone recommend a good monitor calibration software? I am using a Samsung SyncMaster 226BW LCD monitor. Have started looking at the Spyder software, but have no idea which one I would need? This is confusing as a lens purchase!

Hi Michelle, I purchased a Sypder2 express a couple of weeks for around $140.00 and noticed the difference, guess it really depends on your budget.
C&C most welcome, please if reworks are made post what adjustments etc have been made so I can learn from them

    Thanks

I have the same monitor and did mine recently with a Spyder2 Pro. It has made a massive difference. The white balance was way out compared to what is recommended.

Which version? No idea. I used the pro, as it was what was available for me to borrow!

    (BTW, its hardware and software!)

Thanks we ordered the spyder pro, hopefully it will arrive today. Tried calibrating it with the software that came with the monitor - pass on that idea! Sigh. I guess at some stage I can expect to stop spending money and start earning some. LOL can't I?

I too purchased Spyder 3 Pro today, and noticed a huge difference on my monitor. Hopefully my photo’s will look right when I post them on the net.

Hoffy, when you say the WB was out, what difference did you notice?

Spyder3 Pro arrived and we have calibrated my monitor, but white now looks like it has a distinct bluish cast to it, instead of being bright white. And yet using the before and after calibration screen with all the thumbnail images, the difference is quite phenomenal, so I am wondering if it is ok, even though white dosn't look white.

We only used the RGB settings on the monitor if that makes any difference? Blue went up to 100%, red was 18% and green was 15% which gave us about 6350K and .18 DAP difference.

LOL do you know if that is ok?
