hey i bought a olympus 795sw to use in surf as it was cheap and im jus asking any1 know good ways to take photos with it like setting etc and is it possible to take pictures where it focuses on 1 thing and stuff around it bit blurry?

There's only one or two water shooters here I'm aware of so not sure how many tips you'll get. Luke Thompson is one that springs to mind. Any surf shots I've done have been from land but in the water you'll want wide angle and wide open aperture for a blurred background, but I'm not familiar with your camera either. Maybe check out the realsurf forum, they have a dedicated photography section there with some talented surf photographers as regular contributors.
