    External GPS unit

    Hi all,

Anybody using an external GPS unit for geo-tagging?

The GP-E2 that would suit my 5DS looks to be discontinued but it was expensive anyway.

    Cheers,

Mark, I did a couple of searches, as this is a new topic for me. _ I only know it's possible

The most useful search phrase was this "use a phone as a gps tracker", for bringing up good
looking results. That's it, though, as I do not know how to include the location info into your
    camera exif.

I had a GP-E2 but rarely used it as it was a PIA to have attached to the camera.

The 1DXII I use now has GPS built in which I find very handy when I open pics in LR after travelling.
