Converting to the dark side, anyone used the topaz software?

Started to look at new software to work on learning while i wait on my new camera to arrive and i found this stuff by a place called topaz labs specificly im looking at https://www.topazlabs.com/topaz-photo-ai and https://www.topazlabs.com/gigapixel-ai as options for some of my older photos where i have just missed the mark slightly and have had no luck with my current editing skills.

I should mention this is not the first time ive heard of this stuff, ive seen what their video version can do from a tech youtube channel i watch called linus tech tips.

Yes, I have. It's not bad when it's good, but NOT everything is guaranteed to come up
    looking great.

If you are thinking of buying it, have a look at the trial version. It gives you a watermark,
but it's otherwise fully functional. Look out for deals, like 3 for $99 each or so, instead of
something like (these are old prices and memory dependent) $150 each.

Sometimes they give you artifacts, but mostly - if the photo is not too bad - it's good.
    CC, Image editing OK.

Thanks, yea i dont expect everything to look great if its something ive done horribly but its for those times i just a touch off focus and i can get the sharpness back myself.

Def will try the trial first because 150 or so is gonna be a hit on the wallet while im basicly changing camera systems compleatly.

A while ago I checked out a few of these software suites. I was looking for noise reduction software but of course they mostly come as a suite of software now. I eventually settled on ON1, mostly because I am a fan of subscription software where you get constant updates and have the choice after 12 months if you want to continue or change to a different suite.

I am verry happy with my choice so far.

I use Topaz DeNoise AI and have found it useful where I have had to shoot at high ISO's.

I always apply it on a New Layer in PS CC, so I can then blend the results in if the Topaz results are too aggressive.

I have used previous versions and gone through a series of incremental upgrades so the cost has been spread out and as I find it a useful tool, worth the investment.

So just a update, tried the photo editing one and damn, the software is good, fed it a photo where i just missed focus and it came back with a nicely sharpened version with alot less noise aswell.

Yep. You can get that. Be prepared for some unsuccessful ones sometimes.

From what I can see on their website, this Photo AI is a new ansd separate product from
their previous suite of Gigapixel, Sharpen and DeNoise.

And is this just the trial version you used, or did you buy it?

Saph I use Topaz DN mostly for birds. I like it. I use mostly iso 800 to 3200 and find that just noise reduction sharpens the image, but for the oof parts of the image, further sharpening looks artificial. regards marty
