    Cheap USB ring light

Just spent $20 on a new toy. It is a USB powered Ring Light, intended for selfies, but I will use it for desktop macro work.

    Features

    • bright 10W ring of LEDs in behind a diffuser
    • two goosenecks, one with the light, one with a phone cradle
    • inline control for many levels of brightness, and also, warm/day/blue (2700 to 6500k)
    • remote bluetooth control for triggering the phone camera
    • clip for the table edge to hold it all

The goosenecks are much better quality than I expected. Nice heavy metal. In the photo, you can see the phone focussed on the remote cntrol sitting on the computer keyboard. The power for this is coming from the laptop USB port.

I can see this working well for playing with macro on the desktop.

A coule of test macros using the phone. Light works well, but the phone does a poor job
