    Canon PTP ransomware psa.

Just posting as a heads up for fellow canon users there is a way for people to lock you out of your camera's sd card canon put out a alert but never told people it seems.

    Alert here: https://global.canon/en/support/security/d-camera.html

Heres the worrying part: its not at all safe even via usb since PTP is unsecure best option is to use a card reader and dont connect to free wifi.

"but we dont want to say there may have been so we dont hurt our sales" basicly saving face at the possibilty of losing sales on camera's and everything else they make.

It must have gone "into the ether". - At least the Etherians are well informed
So, not even the ability to restore to factory settings? - That'd be a pain.

it basicly locks you out with a scare tactic of 'turn this off and everything is deleted'
