Google night sight on its Pixel cameras

This article explains a little about how the night sight function works on the Google Pixel phone cameras - including comparison photos. I thought it's pretty amazing for a hand held mobile phone camera!

Looks like it relies on a lot of stacking. Interesting, though.

Yes, a lot of stacking. The colour processing is brilliant - at least in the images shown.

Thanks for this Bianca. I have one of the original Pixel phones and whilst I don't use the camera all that much I do think this is a great upgrade for low light scenes.

It probably won't be as amazing on the original Pixel, but have you tried it out?

Not yet and the automatic update hasn't come through for my phone yet. It seems it should during the next few days so will post a result as soon as I've got it.

I found another article that goes into more detail, including regarding what applies to the Pixel variants.
    And the link is: https://9to5google.com/2018/11/15/pi...sight-tidbits/

Thanks Bianca. It still hasn't come through for me but I guess the older pixels will be left to last. I do have a little tripod for my phone - haven't used it for taking shots yet but it's handy for when son calls from OS. Might have to use it for night sight to get best results from my phone without stabilisation.
