On the 'old' PS 2018 (like all previous versions) when you have an image open in PS and you click on the crop tool, it always put a crop around the whole image and you could independently adjust each side of the crop. Now with this new version of PS 2019 when you click on the crop tool it works completely different by not outlining the whole image and too me its unworkable and atrocious. I wish they hadn't changed it
Hi Bianca,
Windows 10 for me.
Here's a screen shot of V2018 -

And here's a screeny from V2019, the crop tool works completely and totally different from V2018, just been reading up about it and its seems Adobe is getting a lot of complaints from implementing this. It's peeving me off trying to use it as it as, that's for sure

Mate! It's how you've got the crop set! Have a look at the proportions you have set in the toolbar (under the title bar). In the top one you have nothing in the fields, but in the second one you have it set to 5 in by 4 in. Press the clear button and presto! All should be good. :-)
Well......I'm gonna' be having a MUCH happier Saturday afternoon !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU
Yes! And not just a rumour!hear Picard is going to be in a new Star Trek series?
Dunno what they've done with the new cropping tool, but I flat out do not believe that they have made it any worse, I don't see how that is possible. Any change could only be for the better.

I may be being a fraction pedantic here but. These photos may be screenshots and while I know nothing about the first I know the 2nd is a photo posted to AP by Gazza.
Accreditation is a thing. "this is a photo posted by Gazza that I wanted to play with" or "hope Gazza doesn't mind me reposting his photo" or something.
Sorry about that.
All good this end, mate. Thanks for lookin' out -
I understand what you're saying though and I personally don't give a rats...I'm sure
I've conveyed that message/personality trait over the years here at AP?
The way I see it; if my images were extremely 'precious' to me, the last place to display any them at all would the web.
Cheers -
Thanks Gazza,
All I care about is that you understand what happened mate.
You posted up the Butcherbird and it was a Saturday afternoon and I actually had a bit of free time and thought I'd do a quick edit on it and see what you thought.

at 3.33pm on the 20th October I posted the edit of the butcherbird for you and I was having difficulty after difficulty with photoshop after doing the major update, it was literally driving me crazy
and it ended up being something simple that Bianca and Mark pointed out.
At 4.16pm on the 20th I grabbed a screen shot of the still opened image in photoshop to show the difficulties that I was having in the thread that I started here on the Friday -
