    Running late - VERY late

Whilst sitting in a line of cars, waiting for the stop/go man to rotate his sign and let us go, I saw this sign to the left. Obviously their completion date is WAY out.

Glenda. What do you mean it's so late?
Clearly it's running way ahead of time, as it's ONLY less than
two years late, not the expected 15 or so.

Glenda Red Rover is an interesting name for a road. I believe the expression comes from Croquet, where that is the name of the final hoop, to be negociated before needing to hit a central peg, which finishes the game. This is called pegging out, which is also a colloquialism.
Not all croquet players are nescessarily old and near pegging out.
    regards marty.

That's interesting Marty. An acquaintance asked if we would be interested in joining our local croquet club which he is in, but as we are planning another long trip this year we declined.
