    Photographing Flowers in Melbourne

    Hi Melbourne Folks

I was wondering if there are some go-to spots in Melbourne for photographing flowers. Any and all suggestions are very much appreciated.

    Cheers

    Rex

For sure, I'm NOT from Melbourne, and I may cop a few s,
but I have once been to the botanical gardens there, and it
seems like a place you couldn't go past.
    CC, Image editing OK.

    Yeah, RBG for sure.
Check the hothouse as a priority .. some real nice stuff in there. But your lens may fog up whilst in there(mine always do) .. but it's just a matter of acclimatisation(if you can stand the humidity). Give it a few minutes and the fogging should clear up(the lens does actually fog up).

When are you in Melb, and for how long? Do you have (personal) transport to get around?
There are also gardens out in the south east (Cranbourne) area which are all native gardens too.
It's a terrible hike if using public transport, but easy 'nuff if you have your own wheels.

    Cranbourne RBG

I've never been to the Cranbourne gardens, but may have some time next week .... too busy up until then

Thanks for the info Arthur. The hothouse at the RBG sounds like a place to go. Sue and I are house-sitting in Brighton until 23 January. We have access to the owner's car so yes we have wheels. The Cranbourne Gardens might be a goer as well. Maybe we could meet up sometime next week.

"(if you can stand the humidity)."

Coming from Rocky you'll cope - definitely hot and humid up here at present

I'm back again in Melbourne - this time from 26 December to 10 January. Still interested in photographing flowers, and now also succulents.

    Any new suggestions?

And there is a Melbourne lady on 500px.com called Susan Chan that takes the most amazing flower photos. Would anyone happen to know her?

    Thanks, Rex
