    D3400

It would appear that Nikon have released a new model heavily based on instant photo sharing to social media.

There must have been a lot of development cost associated with such technological advances.

    How do I know this?

It is obvious since they appear to be getting primary school children to write their press releases to save $$$ that were spent on developing the new model.

Copied and pasted from their email that hit my inbox this arvo -------

Whether you’re a professional amateur, the Nikon D3400 lets you capture precious moments in stunning detail thanks to 24.2 effective megapixels, ISO performance and 11 AF points.

So .. what you're saying is that Nikon used primary schoolers to write up an inadequate press release ... which saved them a few million dollars in professional advertising agency costs ... to make up for the $1 in development costs(over the D3300!) that this new model cost them!

One thing I do know tho, is that the $500K/yr salary that the head engineering honcho probably cost them, was a total waste of resources for this year!

You can see why they'd release something that links straight to a photosharing app.

There's a good number of people I know who've shelved their DSLR to use the phone, as they're just keen on sharing the photo's with friends. This /\ allows Nikon to keep in that loop.

Still not much to write home about though.

Business owners and schools will be taking a close look I'd imagine.
